You might think bar carts are just for storing wine bottles and mixer sets, but they’re actually quite versatile. They can serve so many other purposes around the house.

You can use a bar cart as an accessory cart to showcase your stuff. Anything from coffee table books, candles to special trinkets. Use it as a nightstand in the bedroom or to store your makeup, and in the living room as a side table. And, hello, we missed the most obvious one, a coffee bar cart!

Pairing black with gray creates a rich, layered feel. It’s a great way to break up a black wall without losing the dramatic, dark look. Similar to white, gray is a neutral color that offers balance. Every home deserves a library. A quiet corner to get away and escape into the pages of a good book. It doesn’t even have to take up all that much space. All you need is somewhere to kick up your heels and a place for your books.

Black is not a very common color in interior decors, especially when it comes to wall colors. But, even so, black can be very beautiful and a bold accent color. There are many ways you can use black in your decor and still have an airy and bright bedroom.

For one, you can paint the ceiling white to create balance. Black is strong and dramatic so use elements that add warmth like plants, wood pieces and gold finishes.

Black is my happy color, so I’m definitely painting my bedroom walls black. It’s happening.

I love IKEA furniture because you can make it your own. There's always a way to customize their pieces to your fit your decor. I have a couple of these tall metal and glass units and I use them to display my handbag collection. But they can really be used for almost anything.

I particularly like how these shelves are against a black wall (LOVE black walls) it really makes all the items on display stand out even more.

Brass, black and white bestow a timeless, unimpeachable class. Recent trends have placed brass back in style, and images of interiors with this color scheme are popping up all over Pinterest. And I am in love.

I’m in the market for a new desk chair. Preferably a swivel chair. But I want it to be beautiful as well as comfortable. So far, my research has consisted of trying every chair I see in all my usual favorite places to shop. But I need to be frugal about this purchase if I want to stay within budget. It brings me delight to see a home library every single time. I jump at the opportunity to be able to browse random books and wonder how many times each of those stories have brought joy to someone. It inspires me to create a library at home. All it would really take is will and a corner space. Everyone should discover the joys of serendipity that come from the discovery of a new book.

Retail Therapy

I love the combination of black walls with wood furniture pieces. The tone of the wood adds warmth to the decor and helps create balance. I also love the way green plants just pop right off the black. It's a winning combination in my book.

i’m always on the lookout for ideas and inspiration for the future remodel. all of our current interior doors are painted black and lacquered. and i love them. but, we’ve been talking about doors with glass and maybe even metal doors with glass. then i came across this image on instagram (@metro_steel_windows): a wall of steel windows and steel doors designed and installed to perfection.

and now, the possibilities are endless.

The process of starting a bedroom revamp is always a bit daunting. The trick is to first understand what kind of feel or theme you want. Once you choose a style, like Bohemian, the decorative elements will just fall into place.

I’ve always loved Bohemian style bedrooms. But I also love black. So, of course my Bohemian bedroom would feature a layered look that incorporates different patterns, textures, and lots of black.

This is simply gorgeous. I have always been a fan of wallpaper and have recently discovered wall decals. Not to mention the black doors and wall. Definitely a design I can get behind. At some point, I will do this somewhere in my home.
