Eternally Fashionable
public.jpeg

Black is versatile and eternally fashionable.

Black makes any room feel more modern. It's a little easier to take this bold leap in the bedroom, but the living room requires a degree of commitment. In this particular living room the designer embraces black everywhere from seating to lamp shades.

While the beautiful rug in the designer space is beautiful, it might not be in everyone’s price range. Luckily I found a great alternative on Amazon.

Black Kitchen Cabinets

Unexpected, modern, and a sophisticated look, black cabinets emphasize clean lines, sleek hardware, and beautiful wood grain. The dark color also adds a hefty dose of contrast to prevent a neutral space from looking plain and washed out.

TIP: If you're hesitant to take the plunge into all-black cabinets, start with a dose of black on an island or a select bank of cabinets.

In Love With Floors

Thinking about renovating our bathroom and doing something fun with the floors. It’s an opportunity to do something cool and unexpected.

These furry chevron tiles caught my eye. It’s a modern version of the classic black and white checker pattern, and it’s fantastic! Here are some of the other looks I’m considering. They’re all fabulous.

Black & White Aesthetic

Black and white bathrooms are never boring. And this elegant design is here to prove it. Black and white never fail to elevate the aesthetic of a space. It’s a color scheme that adds a dose of style to any bathroom. A definite classic. Add to that the sharp contrast of the herringbone pattern of black tiles over the vanity and you have a beautiful backdrop for the brass sconces and the mirrors.

Look Down

I am in love with black and white tile floors.

I’ve been looking into options for new flooring for all throughout the house, and I've realized that I’m a much bigger fan of tile floors than I am of wood. Shocking, I know!

I think it’s the patterns that grab my attention. It’s an opportunity to do something creative and unexpected. And i just can't resist.

Open Shelves

Open shelves above the cooking space is a great way to keep the most-used items within reach. If you love art, open shelving is the perfect place to display your favorite art pieces and still make the most of storage in your kitchen. While simple white dishes seem to be the most popular look on open shelving, warm wooden dishware against a dark wall adds warmth to a space that is anything but basic.

Make a statement in your living room by adding bold, black walls for a dramatic effect. This look can really change up the look of your space. Black is timeless and blends well with other colors. Be bold and paint all the walls in your room black or try an accent wall to make your interior really stand out. A moody space can be cozy and inviting and fits into any decor scheme, from modern to Scandinavian and everything in-between.

I Dream Of Black Walls
180610.jpg

I have been dreaming of black walls in the bedroom for so long. I’ve almost got the husband convinced. Now I just need to find the right shade of black paint. You'd be surprised at how many choices there are. Also, I'm loving the large, over-sized frameless mirror. It does a great job of reflecting light into the space.

White kitchens have always been the go-to for elegant kitchen design, but have you considered black? Whether you have a traditional, contemporary or modern design aesthetic, much like in fashion, black goes with everything from cabinets to kitchen islands and even backsplashes.

These are some of my favorite black kitchens.

Whether you’re working with a large, well-lit space or a small, cozy room, dark furniture totally works.

This deep red velvet chair is downright sexy and sophisticated and proves that dark furniture can make any room look more expensive.

I am in love with black homes!

Dark colors add drama and depth. It makes a strong visual statement and it sends a message that you’re not afraid to be noticed.

Plus, black facades will recede and focus attention on green foliage, making plantings appear more lush.

Black is the new neutral, it contrasts well with many other materials and textures. Black does it all!

Lines Of Gold

It’s official: I have a thing for black and white tile floors.

And these are amazing! I had not considered the possibilities for grout colors. I have to look into metallic grout. It’s the perfect compliment for black and white tiles. Much more research is needed…stay tuned.
